Days 13, 14 & 15,
Drove from Davenport Iowa to Xenia Ohio on Wednesday 440 miles(approx 700k) in total. For this trip I kept to the interstates mainly. The speed limit is 65mph(100kmph) but you can safely travel 10mph above the limits without attracting the attention of the police. This I have done in all our driving so far and have passed many Highway Patrol cars without any problem. We stayed with Brenda a friend of mine that I have been conversing with for more than 20 years. It was great to catch up with Brenda again and also catch up with the rest of her family. Whilst in Xenia Linda & I sought out a local Doctor to get some antibiotics to help get rid of Linda's bronchitis as it wasn't clearing up and my early stages of the same illness. We also took the opportunity to send back some of the clothes we have not been using thus making space for anything we might buy from now on.
Today we left Dayton Ohio at 7am and arrived in Washington DC at approx 3:30pm after driving 500 miles(800km). It is interesting that when you talk to the locals it is unheard of to travel these types of distances in one day. They only seem to travel a couple of hundred miles a day when traveling.
